I Want To See The House But I Don’t Want To Bother My Agent

For some reason, clients seem hesitant to call their agents when they find a property they like. I don’t know if it’s because they don’t understand the nature of the business or if they’ve had run-ins with bad agents who don’t answer or return call and emails.

Correspondence between buyer’s agents and clients is just as important prior to writing an offer as it is during escrow. Communicating the ever-changing needs and wants of a buyer to their agent is imperative for a smooth home buying process.

Why is then that buyers feel like they’re bugging their agent by making showing requests or wanting information on a property?

Real estate is a service industry. Agents don’t build or own the homes but facilitate the process and are intermediaries between parties. We’re here to listen and problem solve as buyers move toward home ownership. We don’t view client phone calls and emails as bothersome but as an opportunity to use our knowledge and skills to get buyers where they want to be.

Yes, most of us do have lives outside of showings homes and listing appointments but we’ve learned to be flexible and accommodating with our schedules. We might not be able to show you that home during our child’s football game but 30 minutes after may be an option.

As a buyer, set aside some time to sit down with your agent and go over the home buying process before looking at properties. During this time you can set expectations for communication. Most agents are available through email, calls, and texts so figure out what fits your lifestyle the best.

Remember, you’ve hired us to represent you in the what will probably be the biggest purchase in your life so don’t go it alone and uninformed.

Just give us a call.

Looking to buy a house or aren’t sure if being a homeowner is right for you? Call or email me and we can discuss your options.
